Pop Culture Trend: Little Girls Who Beat up Grown Men

NBCUniversal International Studios is planning to turn the 2011 movie Hanna into a television series according to a March 10 post at Dark Horizons. The movie was about a girl who also happened to be an assassin. The announcement of the planned TV series is consistent with the pop culture trend of stories where little girls beat up grown men.

Dark Horizons summarizes the movie Hanna as a story about “a girl raised in the wilderness of northern Finland by her father (Eric Bana), an ex-CIA operative, who trains her as an assassin.” The announcement of a planned TV series based on this movie shows that Hollywood thinks the public wants more tales featuring girl warriors.

Logan has proven to be a hit at the box office and as its trailers show, it features a young girl who tears apart grown men.

A few years ago the movie Kick-Ass (followed by its sequel) featured a young girl who fights and beats up grown men.

After pounding the world with the idea that tiny women can beat up hulking men, Hollywood apparently is now pushing the notion that bigger and stronger men are no match for female children.
