DOD: OK to Fly a Sodomized American Flag but Not a Trump Flag

Navy officials disciplined SEALs who flew a Donald Trump flag in their convoy as they traveled by Humvees in Kentucky in January according to multiple media reports on March 1. And while the DOD saw fit to punish the sailors for flying a Trump flag, just two years ago the DOD gave its blessing to a serviceman who flew a sodomized American flag.

Military.com reported that “Lt. Jacqui Maxwell, a spokeswoman for Naval Special Warfare Group 2 out of Little Creek, Virginia” said that the SEALs involved in flying the Trump flag “violated the spirit and intent of applicable [Defense Department] regulations concerning the flying of flags and the apparent endorsement of political activities.”

The article added that the Navy gave the sailors “[a]dministrative corrective measures.”

The Washington Post also reported that the Navy disciplined the troops.

Meanwhile, back in February 2015, The Washington Times reported that, “Officials at Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona, are allowing a rainbow-striped American flag to remain flying at someone’s home after an airman complained it violated Title 4 of the U.S. Code.”

So the U.S. Department of Defense has no problem with a serviceman making a political statement in support of deviancy with a sodomized American flag, but it will punish any serviceman who flies a flag with the name of the commander-in-chief on it.
