As the Ruling Class conducts influence operations to convince the public that Donald Trump and his former national security adviser, Michael Flynn, betrayed the U.S. to Russia, it’s a good time to remember that the Obama administration courted Russia even as Obama knew since the start of his presidency that Russia was a national security threat. And in October of 2010, Obama specifically cited Marine Gen. Jim Jones as being instrumental in that effort.
Retired Marine Gen. Jim Jones is stepping down as National Security Adviser and will be replaced by his deputy Tom Donilon, President Barack Obama announced at the White House Oct. 8.
Obama praised Jones for his patriotism, intellect and steadiness. . . .
Jones helped to formulate a new strategy that provides the resources needed in the fight against extremism in Afghanistan and Pakistan, the president said. Jones also was instrumental in re-setting U.S. relations with Russia and negotiating tough new sanctions against Iran for its nuclear program, Obama said.
