On or about Feb. 5, Democratic operative and Clinton acolyte George Stephanopoulos interviewed Pence for ABC News. As a Democratic operative and Clinton lackey, Stephanopoulos pestered Pence about sodomy, with Pence finally giving the following answer.
“I think throughout the campaign, President Trump made it clear that discrimination would have no place in our administration,” Pence said in an interview on ABC’s “This Week” that aired Sunday. “He was the very first Republican nominee to mention the LGBTQ community at our Republican National Convention and was applauded for it. And I was there applauding with him.”
Pence is Trump’s VP, so no one should have expected him to contradict Trump’s actions. However, Pence didn’t just give some vague comments in support of Trump’s decision; he enthusiastically endorsed the “LGBTQ community.”
And this is what true conservatism is and why I never wanted Pence (or even another GOP candidate) at the top of the ticket. True, Trump is no better on morality than Pence is, but Trump is open about that compared to the GOP and conservatism which hide their actual beliefs. Furthermore, when it comes to other issues I support (smaller government, securing the border, putting America first, and so forth), Trump is leaps and bounds ahead of Pence or any other Republican or conservative on these issues.
Pence’s support of sodomy disappointed some in the conservative base. But it shouldn’t surprise anyone. Because conservatism and the GOP are really no different than progressivism and the Democrats.
