Hillary’s Campaign Visited Moscow [VIDEO]

Members of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign team visited Moscow to meet with Russian officials, undermining claims that Russia was interfering with the U.S. election in favor of Donald Trump.

MEMRI reported on Nov. 13 that a Russian official said that members of Hillary Clinton’s and Donald Trump’s presidential teams had contact with Russian officials during the 2016 presidential campaign. Video and a partial transcript of the MEMRI report are as follows.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said that meetings with various personnel on the elections teams of both U.S. presidential candidates was "normal diplomatic practice," and implied that the American outrage regarding Russian contacts with President-elect Trump's team in the buildup to the elections was groundless. Asked about contacts with Hillary Clinton's team, Zakharova said: "They came to Moscow many times." She was speaking on a Russia 1 post-elections talk show on November 13.

One of the refrains the ruling elite issued during the 2016 presidential campaign was that Russia was influencing the election because it wanted Trump to win. The elites sometimes said that the U.S. intelligence community confirmed this.

Yet while it is true that the Russians conducted information and other operations directed against the 2016 U.S. elections, the U.S. IC did not say that Russia wanted Trump to win.

The Russians have long conducted influence and information operations against the U.S. The ruling elites have for just as long chosen to (largely) ignore them.

And now that they are reporting on them, they are spreading disinformation about them . . . not unlike how Russia spreads disinformation in its influence and information operations.
