‘Star Wars’ Actor Mark Hamill Defines Character Down

Star Wars actor Mark Hamill reportedly helped the continued redefinition of character into nothingness when he supposedly remarked that people can view his character of Luke Skywalker as wanting to have sex with other men if they wish, and that doing so won’t affect the fictional character’s character.

Dave Huber at the Colossus of Rhodey caught a report in the Daily Mail that cited an article in the Sun which quoted Hamill as saying what Luke Skywalker does sexually is both up to the audience and also should not affect how people judge his character.

“But now fans are writing and ask all these questions, ‘I’m bullied in school... I’m afraid to come out’. They say to me, ‘Could Luke be gay?’ I’d say it is meant to be interpreted by the viewer.
“If you think Luke is gay, of course he is. You should not be ashamed of it. Judge Luke by his character, not by who he loves.”

And thus character is defined down even further.
