Intelligence and Aggregative Contingent Estimation

The Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA) is to intelligence what the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is to military defense.

Aggregative Contingent Estimation (ACE) is one subject that IARPA is researching in its effort to improve intelligence analysis.

I cannot speak as an authority on precisely what ACE is but it appears to be taking crowdsourcing and looking at how it can use a version of that to improve intelligence analysis and forecasting.

I’ve recently started consulting with Wikistrat, a private network that is, “the world’s first crowdsourced consultancy.”

I’ll be devoting some of my time to that for the foreseeable future. It will be interesting to see how it goes and what the future of crowdsourcing will have with intelligence analysis and forecasting.
