National Journal published a column called, “America Is Still Running Out of Fresh Water,” this past week, which advances the notion that fresh water is becoming a scarce resource.
This might not seem like a big thing but it is important. The same people who made fuel a political issue, used to demonize certain people and used as an excuse to steal money, are making water the next resource that will be politicized.
“If people think we’ve been arguing about fossil fuels, wait ‘til we really start arguing over water,” Madeleine Albright said earlier this year, according to CNSNews.com.
And when the National Intelligence Council published its, “Global Trends: 2030 – Alternative Worlds,” in late 2012, it listed water as one of the resources under its “Megatrends” section and discussed how it possibly could drive conflict.
