Syria, Israel, and the Responsibility to Protect Doctrine

S&CI published James Simpson’s, “The ‘Responsibility to Protect’ Doctrine – A pretext for disarming Israel,” on September 1. (This piece was originally published on January 1 at the Capital Research Center.) In it Simpson wrote:
Calls are now being made to intervene militarily in Syria under an R2P pretext. Will Israel be next? Recently the Obama administration restrained Israel from finishing off Hamas groups that were launching relentless rocket attacks. The international community already views Israel as a pariah.
McClatchy reported on September 19 that, “Syria chemical weapons plan renews talk of whether Israel also has them.”

The so-called international community almost went to war in Syria because of chemical weapons, and it may still do so. So what does that mean it will do with Israel? Time will tell, but if you haven’t yet read Simpson’s piece on Responsibility to Protect and how it affects Israel, now is a good time to do so.
